Print Photo Organizing & Legacy Preservation

Your printed photos are more than just pictures—they’re your family’s story.
But when those memories are hidden away in boxes, albums, and frames, they can feel overwhelming instead of meaningful. At Tidy Memories, we help you bring order to the chaos so you can reconnect with your history and share it for generations to come.
We offer two personalized options to help you organize your physical photo collection based on your pace, budget, and comfort level.

Questions You May Be Wondering ~ FAQs
I feel overwhelmed by my photo collection. Is that normal?
Completely. Most of my clients feel this way.
Photos hold so much emotion — memories of childhood, loved ones, milestones, and sometimes even loss. When they’re scattered across boxes and albums, it can feel impossible to know where to start.
You don’t have to do it alone. That’s exactly why I created Tidy Memories.
How do I know which service is right for me?
If you’d like to be involved in sorting and sharing stories as we go, Guided Organizing Sessions are a wonderful option.
If you’d rather hand everything off and receive a fully organized and preserved archive back, the Legacy Collection offers a complete, done-for-you experience.
If you’re unsure, we can talk through your collection and decide together — there’s no pressure.
Why does the Legacy Collection begin at $2,000?
Legacy projects often include decades of family history — albums, boxes of loose photos, slides, and negatives. Each photo is handled carefully, sorted thoughtfully, and preserved using archival-safe materials.
These projects take many hours of detailed work and unfold over several months. The investment reflects the time, care, and intention that go into protecting your family’s story for the future.
How is pricing determined?
After an initial conversation and assessment of your collection, I provide a clear estimate range based on size and complexity.
Before any work begins, you’ll understand what to expect — financially and timeline-wise. My goal is for you to feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.
How does billing work? Do I pay everything upfront?
Not at all. We believe in a transparent, milestone-based payment structure. For most legacy projects, the investment is broken into four parts:
30% Retainer: To secure your spot on the calendar and begin the consultation phase.
30% Organizing Phase: Due once the physical sorting and decluttering of your collection is complete.
30% Digitizing Phase: Due once all scanning and digital archiving is finished.
10% Completion: The final balance is due upon delivery of your beautifully preserved memories.
Note: During our initial consultation, we provide a tailored budget that itemizes any specific supply costs (like archival boxes or custom albums) necessary for your unique project.
How long does a Legacy Project take?
Most full-service projects take about 3–4 months from start to finish.
This allows time for careful organizing, scanning, and creating a system that truly makes sense — not rushing through something that matters.
Will my photos be safe while they’re with you?
Yes. Your photos are stored securely in my home office and treated with the same care I would give my own family’s collection.
I understand how personal these items are, and I take that responsibility seriously.
What happens after my photos are scanned?
Once completed, your photos are returned to you:
- Stored in archival-safe envelopes and boxes
- Clearly labeled for easy access
- Organized to match your digital folder system
You’ll be able to find what you’re looking for — whether it’s a childhood memory or a special family event — without digging through piles again.
Do you offer facial recognition or tagging?
Basic scanning includes organized digital folders.
For larger Legacy projects, we can also discuss adding detailed tagging (people, events, locations) to create a searchable digital archive. This can be especially meaningful for multi-generation collections.
Can you work with slides and negatives too?
Yes. Slides, negatives, and other photo media are carefully organized and included in the process.
What if I only need scanning or video conversion?
That’s absolutely okay. Not every project needs full organizing.
If you’re looking to digitize photos or convert old home videos, I offer standalone services as well. We can start wherever you feel ready.
Is this service only for large estates or wealthy families?
Not at all.
My clients are people who care deeply about their memories and want a thoughtful way to preserve them. Whether your collection fills one box or many, your story matters.
If your photos have been sitting in boxes for years — waiting for “someday” — this may be the right time.
You don’t have to feel overwhelmed. You don’t have to sort through it all alone.
Whether you’d like gentle guidance in your home or a complete done-for-you Legacy experience, I would be honored to help you preserve your family’s story.
